Moniker.com released a partial list of the “Top Contenders” so far for the adult domain auction it will conduct as part of the Internext Expo 2008 to be held in Hollywood Florida on August 8.
This is just a partial list, subject to change of course, and again this is adult, so if you are easily offended you have been warned.
On the other hand they are just words.

I hand registered streamingpornomovies.com a few weeks back. That’s on the same level as some of these names.
Amazing what’s still available for $7.
I have to agree with Tony. Many of these are not even worth consideration.
It must be getting difficult to find good inventory.
Well there are a few good ones here and like moniker said the list is far from complete.
My personal favorite happens to be a .org. But Moniker adult auctions have been a relative failure in the past.
When you have 20% commish and laughable auctioneers, I am not sure why a buyer or seller should attend.
Snapnames live auctions has been a leader with no shill bidding (min stated bids), professional auctioneers, and a somewhat flexible commish structure. Unfort, Moniker auctions have become a model of how greed ruined a good thing.

I think the commission rate is only 15% for moniker, and as far as I know snapnames live has only held one live auction at domainfest and they are all owned by the same company so I think your off course here.
Our company submitted 99 domains for review and today we were asked for lower reserves on 5 to have included – not guaranteed. I decided to try the 5 at the lower reserves and see what the market brings – even if just the reserve.
It will be fun to see how this auction plays out and as it is my first as a seller – interested in seeing what happens.
I agree that the commissions seem high, but it is a venue and your option to sell. I set my reserves and I am more than happy to get 85% of upside from there…even 80%. I am sure if you owned sex.com or xxx.com, etc…you could negotiate that commission way way down.
MHB, thx for your comments. Snapnames was bought after they did their annual domainfest auction, but you are right they are now the same company.
For anyone, who watched the last adult auction online, held by Moniker, could tell it was a total disaster. The auctioneer was unprofessional compared to domainfest, and there was no min bidding. Any simply research on dnforum or namepros will confirm this.
Shill bidding is not only bad for Moniker.. but its bad for our industry. Also, I am actually fine with a commish rate of 15 or 20 percent. It is well within their rights to get as much profit they can for themselves. “Greed is good”

I don’t have a dog in the fight but I have asked moniker about the phantom bids which some refer to a shill bidding.
I will try to explain as best as I can.
So when the auction starts the bidder says he represents the seller and has the right to bid on his behalf.
This is I guess the way all auctions are in that the auction house represents the seller.
That makes sense since they have a contract with the Seller.
So far so good.
Now lets say you have a domain with a $5,000 reserve price which would take a bid of $5,750 to win the auction, with commission.
The auctioner has the right in representing the seller to bid up to the reserve on his behalf without actual bidders.
So the auctioneer says 1K, 2k, 3k 4k, to bid on behalf of the Seller up to right before the Seller’s reserve, however the auctioneer cannot bid a winning bid unless there is one.
So once the reserve is hit, in my example $5,750 the auctioneer can only acknowledge actual bids which can be by live people, over the phone, a written proxy bid (referred to as a left hand bid which has a prefixed maximum) or an internet bid.
If you bid $6,000 on the domain the auctioneer cannot and doesn’t say he has a $6,500 bid unless he actually does.
Hope I explained it well and that it helps.

I wasn’t at the adult auction in Vegas so I can’t directly comment on that show.
If moniker will list 1000+ adult domain names on the auction for sale I do not think that the auction will be a success.
Adult domain names are in high demand.
Marketing the auction to get more domian name buyers into the game would benefit moniker (they get commission $$) and the domain name seller gets $$ (their reserve price will be reached and the domain name will be sold).

Hey Guys:
Could someone tell what is the best outlet to sell adult domains… I have many of them in my portfolio and I haven’t made solid attempt to promote them yet. ..With thousand of names in Moniker’s vaults, mine would probably get lost.
Samples are:
HookerNetwork.com
FuckYouNow.com
FuckingMates.com
PornoAss.org
There are even BETTER ones that I can’t remenber.
I just launced my own adult auction site today.. please let me know what you think.. ITS NEW
