New Domainer Making Money on Short Domains

July 15, 2008 by Michael Berkens

According to Reece Berg CEO of BQB.com, Inc. making money on short domain names is easy.

BQB.com, a no commission next generation domainer to domainer (D2D) domain name auction platform dedicated to short domain names, announced sales exceeding $25,000 for June 2008.

“Absolutely fantastic, it’s exceeded all our expectations. That said, we have very high hopes for the future,” says Reece Berg, CEO of BQB.com Inc.

Since opening to the domain name world in early May 2008, BQB has attracted 371 short domain name investors who share the belief that advancing mobile technology and ever increasing Internet penetration will greatly increase the desirability of short domain names, making an investment in short domain names among the strongest appreciating internet investments for many more years to come.

BQB.com has facilitated over $40,000 in domain sales since May 2008.

“It’s like 1999 all over again with the prices of short domain names up as much as 4000% since 2002. With worldwide Internet penetration hovering around 20% and mobile phones outnumbering computers 4 to 1, there’s still a lot of upside potential,” suggests Berg who recently turned a $12,000 investment in four letter .com domain names (known in the domain name business as LLLL.coms) into upwards of $70,000 within six months. “Easy money,” says Berg, referring to how little work was actually involved in making this profit.

“When people tell me there isn’t money to be made today in the domain name business today, I just shake my head and wonder what ever convinced them of that,” says Berg who goes on to note he’s made six figures buying, selling, and trading short domain names this year.

I personally don’t get the whole LLLL things but there are many ways of paticipating in the domain industry and its good to see that there is money to be made in so many different ways.

Here’s a new guy coming into the game late (some would say) and in a short time he has been able to generated a significant amount of sales in a short time.

Congrats to Mr. Berg

“I personally don’t get the whole LLLL things …”

I contacted you a pair of months ago about buying a CVCV.com that has no other domain metrics than its brandability.
You responded me saying the pricing was 90K!
When similar names are today selling in average 1 to 4K on domain marketplaces like bqb.com, SEDO, …

What price you will sell if you estimate these names have value … LOL

    Friendly

    Francois

    What was the domain?

I guess I asked the pricing through your web interface so if you save requests you should find it.
On my hand it look likes I deleted the email received with the pricing because there was no negotiation possibilities at 90K for this name…
I don’t remember the name now, except it was a cvcv.com name with no metrics.
I was shocked by the huge difference compared with market value but I thought it was apolite way to say the name is not for sale I think.

    Francois

I normally would have the old e-mail but if you read my blog last week my computer crashed and all my info gone.

I have my stuff backup at home but will not be back for a few weeks.

Anyway regarding the 4 letter domains we have some but not for the sake of just having them.

I don’t understand the wholesale registration of any 4 letters like qznu.com.

Obviously 4 good letters aaab.com, or if means something dote.com, are very good.

    Vinson

I do like selling to end users, but I did acknowledge Mr. Berg accomplishment.

There are many ways of making money in this business if you can find your niche we will congratulate you.
