DomainFest Silent Auciton: Our Take

January 30, 2008 by Michael Berkens

As promissed we have analyzed the domainfest, snapnames.com silent auction names and here is what we find to be most interesting, not including the live domains that are left in the silent. The one’s we like for the live, we still like for the silent auction.

We have held back the 12 names we are going to bid on but will release those once the auction is over.

We also expect many of the 4 letter domains all priced at $500 each to sell, although we are not a buyer of these.

This is the best of the rest, in our opinion, what do you think??

pawn.org : Like this one, going into global financialy troubled time. Good for for a proffesional association of brokers / value online / dyslectic sex niche audience / people that get off on chess : )
Like the name for value online !!

    Hi,

“We have held back the 12 names we are going to bid on but will release those once the auction is over.”

I hope one of these is: factoryblowout.com

    I hope I don’t overlap your 12 – bad feeling on 1 or 2 I want to pick up.

And liborindex.com? How many people know what the London inter Bank Offered Rate is…? And what would you optimize it for? How would it be monetized…and for $10k? wow

    Jeff

There are two spelling for whisky.

there is whisky and there is whiskey.

If you check google you will around 23 million references for both of them

Libor index is what most adjustable rate mortgages are based on.

Our opinon on these trade auctions are since the sellers are by in large domainers, you are not going to find PPC bargains at these auctions. That is your not going to find domains that are going to return your money to you in 4-5 years on a pure PPC basis.

The way to go is find domains that are underpriced, against the retail buyer.
