    This is not true

sex.net makes more on a PPC basis than most .com’s.

porn.net will make a nice return.

  3. packers says

    January 20, 2008 at 3:11 pm

Disagree on natural.com. It could go for much more than 1 million if marketed to an end user.

Porn.net is prob my overall fav in terms of PPC and investment purposes.

Also like track.com. Could be used for multiple purposes.

I hate Clandestine.com though. Not many people can spell that properly!

Are flipping names like SoapOperas.com a new trend? Not a bad return if successful.

On face value I would go with most of your suggestions. There are some names that have other reasons, not so apparent, that would garner much more to the right investor/company. An example is Authorize.com which is a great name for credit card purchases and look who really needs it: authorize.net

Authorize.net is one of the largest CC merchant companies on the internet. If they were smart they would grab it.

I think there are a TON of deals in the extended auction….Over 2000 Names, many premium “keyword” based names with traffic. You could probaby by 100-150 Premium Keyword names in the extended auction that would bolw through the traffic of Porn.Net (Collectively of course) Wouldn’t that be a better strategy?

  6. Jeffrey Tonetti says

    January 20, 2008 at 4:28 pm

    probably buy 😉

    Packers

Clandestine.com is hard to spell but, it does have traffic.
According to compete.com around 1,600 visitors a month.
It also has an Alexa ranking.

Many domains have already been flipped in one year’s time for more than double so soapoperas.com would not be a unique situation.

  8. admin says

    January 20, 2008 at 5:19 pm

    Michael

I agree with you on authorize.com a great buy for authorize.net, but otherwise I don’t see anyone stepping up to the plate at $600K.

  9. admin says

    Jeff

I haven’t even looked at the snapnames.com expanded auction names yet. We will have comments on those after the live auction is finished.

So right now I can’t say.

However, since you bring it up about PPC revenue on porn.net, I would note that hotporn.com probably has more traffic than porn.net and only sold for $110K.

The same can be said for matureporn.com, which sold for 130K this week at the adult show.

So as a pure PPC play both of those would have been better

  10. packers says

    January 20, 2008 at 5:39 pm

Admin, there is no way that hotporn or matureporn, or any 2 word combination with the word porn is getting more ppc than porn.net or sex.net. (not that I look at porn on the internet.. lol..) but I know that I never typed hotporn.com or matureporn.com in my life.

Authorize.com at 600k seems pricey. But it seems like all you need to do these days is develop a site, get some registered users, and flip it for multiple times. Another words, the real value in most of these names at auction seems to be flipping it for double or triple if marketed to a wider audience.

Anyone have an extra mil i can borrow?????

  11. admin says

    January 20, 2008 at 5:52 pm

    Packers

All I can go but is the numbers and compete and alexa rank hotporn.com and matureporn.com MUCH higher in traffic levels than ponr.net. Unless someone lets me park all three names for a week I can’t know for sure.

    Only a mil?

    call domaincaptial, they got plenty

  12. Jeffrey Tonetti says

    January 20, 2008 at 9:26 pm

I am sure that “adult names” drive a large amount of traffic, I have some still in the “internext” auction but….take a look at the extended auction, you can buy many names, for $1,000 to $2,500. There won’t be as much bidding, no frenzy and if you bought 100 or 150 of these names (for the same MININUM BID as Porn.Net) no one porn name exclusive of Sex.Com and Porn.Com could match them in PPC or Ad Revenue/Traffic Stats. Do you disagree admin? Not to mention the increase in value of a portfolio vs. a single name-

  13. Jeffrey Tonetti says

    January 20, 2008 at 9:27 pm

P.S. I am putting InvestmentPlanner.Com for Sale for $20K if there are any takers for a GREAT name-

  14. Jeffrey Tonetti says

    January 20, 2008 at 9:29 pm

I would mention names that I think are a bargain…BUT 1st I want to try and buy them

  15. admin says

    January 20, 2008 at 10:00 pm

    Jeff

can you give me 5 example of these 150-200 names that are in the silent auction that you think are better than the live ones???

  16. admin says

    January 20, 2008 at 10:01 pm

    Jeff

I was bidding on sex.net at the live auction and was on it from $325K and gave up at $425K. I owuld not call it a frenzy, I think there was only 2 of us, but that’s all you need.

    arthritisdrug.com
Most here are Less than $2,500

    arthritisproblems.com
    approved.mobi
    celebrityweddings.com
    cheapbusinesstravel.net
    commodityquote.com
    desktops.net
    sushibars.net $500-
    testimony.net $2,500
traditions.org $5,000 could be real big-
    tuitionhelp.org $250…..Self Explanatory
    vacationhomeloan.net
    wrestlingmatch.com

And Dozens More ALL FOR LESS THAN THE MINIMUM BID of Porn.Net……

Even if you don’t like .Mobi’s listed here, so what they are still 1 word keywords worth something. The .Org’s listed here apply to a .Org theme and would work very well from a “Trust Standpoint” = Big PPC Revenue/Advertising

    exchangetrading.net
    exoticbeers.com
    foreigntravel.com (at $5,000 this is a steal)
    inventor.info
    jewel.mobi
juegostv.com Game Tv Games Just Sold For $10,000,000- This is $2,000-
    Many of the Luxury Names
    mayor.org less than $2,500 is a deal
negligencelawyers.com (10.000 BUT PPC income on this name would be stratospheric)
    obesitytreatment.org $2,500 is a deal
screenplays.net $2,500 is a deal and finally a few .Net’s that have big PPC, great keywords and are a value at their prices

  18. Don Murray says

    January 21, 2008 at 10:32 am

Cups.com, if it stays below a certain price, could well be the best value Below 150k.

Lowcostmedications.com now that is the best value below 25k, not a type in traffic name but great for any drug affiliate. To be honest we own that one and think the domain fest exposure will bump it around the 15-20k range.

Another one I like is fishing.net for that price it is a bargain but I dont think it will stay at that price.

I also believe a few of the .mobi(s) will again shock investors this week at domainfest. I,m saying this because of recent bids we have got on our own .mobi names. I will annouce one this week that has sold for 15k. Good luck

  19. Peter Askew @ Domainer's Gazette says

    January 21, 2008 at 4:51 pm

I’ve got a .mobi in the auction..will be curious to see if it sells.. what’s more surprising is that my .mobi was accepted in front of my 2 .coms (rentalcondos.com and rentalvillas.com)..eh, guess I’ll toss those in Domain Roundtable or Targeted Traffic..

  20. admin says

    January 21, 2008 at 6:44 pm

    Jeff

It all depends (as it always does) on what your goals for the domains are.

Hold and sell, develop, PPC, or to complete or complement a topic you already own.

    From the list you wrote:

arthritisproblems.com—good resale name, not a PPC name
approved.mobi—I don’t like this name as .mobi
celebrityweddings.com—good name for resale, maybe minium traffic
    cheapbusinesstravel.net—don’t like as a .net
    commodityquote.com—like this name
    desktops.net—like this name as wel
sushibars.net $500–like this on as well
    testimony.net $2,500—don’t like this as a .net
    traditions.org $5,000 don’t think it’s a bargain at 5K
    tuitionhelp.org $250…..Self Explanatory
    vacationhomeloan.net
    wrestlingmatch.com—good resale name

You may be right but I don’t think this group of .net, .org and .mobi put together is going to make the PPC of porn.net

I’m interested in buying the domain
    celebrityweddings.com
who knows where can I purchase it?
I saw someone that wrote in this blog that it was
for sale, but when I use my yahoo business it says that it has been taken.
Is there a way to offer them to sell it?
    (I don’t see that it’s a real page)
