We have created what we are calling the Domain Parking Stock Index.  The index which is a weighted based on market cap, includes publicly traded companies which either have large domain portfolio’s or which make a substantial part of their income from “parked” domains.  The initial index includes Google, Inc. (goog), Yahoo, Inc. (yhoo), Baidu.com, Inc. (bidu), Dark Blue Sea (dbs.ax), Marchex, Inc. (mchx) and banks.com (bnx).

The  index will update every trading day at 6PM EST.  Prices of the indivdual stocks will be updated each trading day continuously with a 20 minute delay.  You will have to hit refresh to get the updated stock prices.

Additional stocks will be added in the future as issues go public or as companies move into this sector.

If you know of a company you believe should be included let us know.

Communicate.com may be a good one to include in your index. The stock has had some nice runs, both up and down, in the past year, and seem to be a well manged, small, growing, company.

CMNN (NASD OTCBB) has a nice group of domain names that they develop into online businesses. I also try to check out the Communicate blog from time to time (blog.cmnn.com).

How about Tucows (TCX). They have a parking portfolio and also generate PPC revenue from the NetIdentity surname domain portfolio.
