The domain name ZL.com has been hit with a UDRP

The Complainant is Zirngibl Langwieser Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft which seems to be using the domain name zl-legal.de.

Yes the Complainant is a law firm with offices in Munich, Vienna, Frankfurt and  Berlin.

According to their site they do refer to themselves repeated just as ZL

As for the domain name ZL.com it is registered at Fabulous for many years and for the last several years under privacy.

The domain is parked at Sedo since sometime in 2008,  and has a traffic rank of around 4 million according to Alexa

We will keep our eye on the UDRP.

The Germans cannot win a world war but they certainly know what is going on in the EU.
    even before BREXIT.
here is another law firm in Germany that could not get their desired domain from us:

The lawfirm Zirngibl Langwieser Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft are either stupid or have no clue about domain names. In both case, they have no rights to the domain name “ZL.com” and will bit the dust at the UDRP . If they wish to get it, they are welcome to contact the owner and make a proposal to buy with a fair offer , who could be over 1 million $.

Thinking to get a 2 letters domain names from somebody in an UDRP would be a steal if awarded to the complainer. WIPO wouldn’t have any credibility…not that they always do.

I guess that Vienna office is what makes them feel they need ZL.com instead of ZL.de. (rolls eyes)

Wow.. How can a German law firm claim an English 2L .com domain name?

Last I checked, the German language uses Z and L too.

Just like filing a lawsuit against anyone for anything, anyone can file a UDRP against any domain for any reason

Yes, that is pretty sad. ICANN should come up with a law to discourage such attempts. It is getting worst day by day.
