YP.com (Yellowpages.com LLC) has sold the premium generic domain name Buzz.com to Domo Inc. (Domo.com) according to whois records!

YellowPages.com had a website on the Buzz.com domain name up until the early morning hours today, until Buzz.com started showing a mirrored site of Domo.com with the Buzz.com domain name.

I didn’t see any press on it myself, but I did find a recent listing page on SnapNames.com for the domain name Buzz.com that was listed on February 19, 2015 with a $50,000 minimum offer and 1 offer received.

Two other domain names that I detected that may have been included in the sale were Buzz.net and BuzzAtar.com which now also show as owned by Domo Inc. at domain registrar GoDaddy.com according to whois records.

Buzz.com was long owned by Bellsouth and then AT&T Inc. YellowPages.com LLC acquired the domain name Buzz.com on 1/22/2013 according to whois history records from At&T.

Domo is a computer software company founded in 2010 by Josh James and has raised hundreds of millions of dollars. Domo was listed as the #1 start-up to watch in 2012. Domo is “business intelligence, data visualization, dashboards and reporting all together. Simplify your big data and improve your business with Domo’s agile and mobile-ready platform” according to its site.

The sales price of Buzz.com and the other domains included in the sale from Yellowpages.com is currently unknown, but I can promise you it is much higher than the $50K minimum offer accepted.

    TRUE, PRICE IS IN MILLIONS. THEY WANT SMALL INVESTORS TO KNOW THAT DOMAIN NAMES ARE NOT GOOD BUSINESS ANYMORE & SINCE THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF NEW EXTENTIONS IN THE MARKET, PRICES ARE GOING DOWN …. THATS NOT TRUE AT ALL.

    Is GoDaddy buying out YP then?

      @Moy,
      I haven’t heard anything that would relate to that?
