Fashion Television International Limited which owns the domain name FashionTelevision.com has filed a UDRP against FashionTV.com
The domain name has been registered to Fashiontv.com GmbH since at least January 2007.
It appears the parties have been in litigation or at least threatened litigation for many years according to a page on FashionTV.com
According to Wikipedia.org, “FashionTV is an international fashion and lifestyle broadcasting television channel, founded in France in 1997 by its Polish-born president Michel Adam Lisowski.
FashionTV is a widely distributed satellite channels in the world with 31 satellite and 2,000 cable systems.
It has 400 million viewers around the world, including 80 million in Arab countries.”
On the other hand “Fashion Television (officially named Fashion Television Channel) is a Canadian English language Category A specialty channel owned by Bell Media.”
“The channel broadcasts programming related to fashion, modelling, photography, art, architecture and design. The channel is fashioned after the CHUM Television original program, FashionTelevision.”
FashionTv.com also owns the domain name Fashion.TV
Sounds like brand assassination to me
It seems everybody wants money of the more successful competitor.
