August 13, 2013 by Michael Berkens

Afternic.com just published its domain sales for the week of 8/5/13 – 8/11/13.

All sales were led by Xylem.com which sold for $47,100 and BXE.com which sold for $40,000

Xylem.com has a wikipedia.org entry, which says Xylem is one of the two types of transport tissue in vascular plants (phloem is the other). The word xylem is derived from the Greek word ξύλον (xylon), meaning “wood”; the best-known xylem tissue is wood, though it is found throughout the plant” but most likely the buyer is  Xylem Inc whose site is Xyleminc.com.

The domain Xylem is now registered to brand protection company Marksman.

BXE.com was a domain owned by BuyDomains.com

Here are all reported sales:

You are right they are definitely the most logical choice to buy the name. I wonder if the seller knew who the buyer was? By the way the list is short Michael.
