   There must be a typo in Sedo’s results. It was cocaine.me not cocain.me. It is already up an running with a catchy, probably iphone oriented business. We shall see.

   @ MHB, for the sake of relaying accurate sales, and so you and other blogs aren’t used simply as a hub to advertise ownership, can you hold Sedo accountable some way for its lists?

   GraphSearch was owned by Visicom since the ’90’s, and it is still owned by Visicom. I don’t think Facebook announces GraphSearch, and the term sells for $5200 within weeks!

   I can tell you that I have sold a domain on Sedo and the whois didn’t change.

   The better question is how does the transaction get reported before it closed including the transfer.

    Hi Louise,

    The domain graphsearch.com transferred into the new owner’s hands, but they did not yet update the WhoIs information to reflect their own contact info. Our transfer team has spoken to the new owner on the phone to confirm that they have control over the name, and to inform them to update the WhoIs information asap.

    As long as we have confirmation from a buyer that they have control over the name, and they have been told to update the WhoIs, we can release payment to the seller and close a transfer. This is what happened in this instance, and that is why the name was in this week’s sales list.

    Okay – thanx! It will be interesting to see who has it now . . .

    Is it usual for new owners to have to update the whosis? Does that mean the owner has access at the registrar level? Which registrars are do-it-yourself? I never pushed a domain to another owner at a new registrar . . . No, someone effected a “push” to a new owner at a different registrar. I didn’t have to do anything. But he had friends at a registrar level.

    For the price of a commission fee, market your domain on Sedo, theDomains, and all the news outlets which echo the list.

    I had to follow logic, to figure it out. A commission fee of 20% on $5200.00 is not that big:
    0.2 X $5200.00 = $1040.00 – peanuts, to publish the name and its owner, get free listing on theDomains.

    Nice business model, Sedo! Marketing your domain via Sedo doesn’t exactly violate your terms
