Syria Shuts Down The Internet

According to Renesys, a Web-monitoring service,  Syria has shut down the Internet

The “Syrian Internet Is Off The Air,” Renesys announced.

The Associated Press is also says that a second web-monitoring company is also reporting a complete shutdown.

This on a day a conference was held on internet governance and with the ITU meeting next month in Dubai with countries wanting to take control of the naming system from ICANN and putting it under the control of the UN
