According to a AllthingsD.com, the New York Times is selling About.com to Answers.com for $270 Million dollars.

low price sale more due to the NYT crisis or to an About.com crisis?
Answers.com is probably a better fit for About.com, they have more similar business models than the NYT. NYT probably got outside their focus.
