Sedo.com Sells Sol.com For $130,000 To Sol Beer; Frank Schilling Sells SlotCity.com For $56K + More

March 9, 2012 by Michael Berkens

Sedo.com is on fire this morning posting several sales

The domain name Sol.com just sold on Sedo.com for 98,000 Euro’s or around $130,000.

Of course Sol means Sun in Latin and some other languages.

The buyer of the domain is Sol Beer and the domain name is already being forwarded its official site at  sol-beer.co.uk

Sol Beer is owned by Heineken.

The seller appears to have been a Riccardo Barbieri of Spain.

In another sale coming through this morning, Frank Schilling Name Administration sold the the domain name SlotCity.com for $56,000

The buyer is a company called DragonPlay.Com out of Israel.

Also  today, ZodiacSigns.com sold for only $10,000 which I think is a nice buy.

There was a notable .TV sale as the domain name Voiture.tv sold for 7,500 Euro’s or around $9K.

Voiture was you probably know (I had to look it up) is French for car.

Finally a nice .org domain sold today, studio.org sold for 4,867 Euro’s which is about $6,200

Congrats to all buyers and sellers.

Nice sales and buys. I think all but SlotCity.com and Voiture.TV sold too cheaply.

It will be interesting to see what they buyers do with their new names.

I like ZodiacSigns.com at that price too. I nice wide niche and that domain provides plenty of flexibility within it. Over 300,000 exact monthy searches according to GAKT.

The studio.org sale seems a little light to me – I would have pegged it to be in the $15K range.

ZodiacSigns.com for only $10k??? Buyer got a great deal if that is the true price.

Looks like domain sales are alive and well. Nice to see more domains get tied up by end users!

Sol.com seems a tad under valued although I do not know the state of the TM’s registered. seem to remember a Sol sun tan oil, well they can drop Sol-Beer now.

two good names but SlotCity is much better

SlotCity.com is a good sale, for the buyer and for others holding gambling-related names. As the U.S. moves closer to onling gambling (the wheels for which are already in motion), the gambling names will rise in price.

ZodiacSigns.com must’ve been a buy it now. Sedo’s BIN default limit is 10K and it looks like the buyer got screwed by that.

    Great buy.

We’ve got TheStudio.com for sale at only $15,000

  13. Elliot says

    March 9, 2012 at 3:34 pm

    @Andrew,

I couldn’t see thestudio.com being worth more than $500-$1,500 to an end user. You have this domain priced way too high.

LLL or three letter domains are on fire.

Sold lpe.co last night money in my account

    @ Andrew

I think TheStudio.com is a great buy at 15 k , I think its worth much more . It is brandable generic and it could represent huge industry like media, news and art.

  17. Michael H. Berkens says

    March 9, 2012 at 5:53 pm

Ok since the comment snuck in I would agree that thestudio.com is fairly priced at $15K

  23. Elliot says

    @Peter,

    Sol.co is worth $50, tops.

  24. Robert Clinee says

    March 10, 2012 at 12:22 am

    @Peter

    honestly,

Sol.co is worth $150k for the proper end user.

    worth more than Sol.com

don’t underestimate the power and the advantage of

    .Co

  25. Donny says

Solomo in a few years will be the next big term, lucky they got it now.

    @Robert Clinee

What are you smokin?, in what universe is a .co worth more then a .com?
You know what .co says? it says I just started my business and .com was taken so I settled for .co.

  29. Rod Beckwith says

    March 10, 2012 at 12:06 pm

Darn….just a digit away from my domain sol3.com which of course is Earth. BTW, it is for sale…check out the website…had some fun with it.

  30. Bobby says

    March 10, 2012 at 12:08 pm

    Good sale.
I think the following names are good.
    SLOTINGS.COM
    SLOTSYORK.COM
    JACKPOTHIT.COM
    CLASICOCASINO.COM
    POKERBOKER.COM

  31. Itsafail says

    March 10, 2012 at 1:30 pm

    Who is Jack Pothit?

  32. Robert Clinee says

    March 10, 2012 at 9:55 pm

.Co is worth more than .com for the sheer fact that

shorter domains by 1 character usually command 10x times more.

    i.e. – LLL vs LLLL

    so Sol.com sold for $130,000

and you can, for something like Solu.com, get for maybe $230

likewise by straightline logical analysis Sol.co can be said to be worth more than Sol.com

    checkmate.

    Hi guys,

I got zodiacsigns.com, it was a 7 day auction, I cant believe I won it only at $10k
4,50,000 exact searches, lifes good! 🙂

    March 11, 2012 at 4:10 am

I prefer Sol.ws or Sol.cc to Sol.co, although all are pretty good.
