Rick Schwartz Calls It “Mission Accomplished” As he Bows Out Of The Daily Blogging World

by Michael H. Berkens

In a blog post today, Rick Schwartz says he is going to stop blogging on any regular basis on Ricksblog.com

“”For over a decade I have devoted my time to the “Industry of Domains”.

“While that won’t change, I will now adjust my focus and time from domainers to new avenues in a maturing universe that is presenting some huge opportunities.”

“I feel in the last days I have said all I can possibly say.”

“I am not closing this blog.”

“I will still post from time to time. ”

“But as a daily exercise, I think the blog has run its’ course. It will stay here forever. The words will stand and the vision will again be proven. But my time can be better used and that is what I am going to do”

Over the years Rick has imparted a tremendous amount of information on the business of domaining, business in general, and a ton of life lessons.

If you haven’t been a regular reader of his blog all the posts are on Ricksblog.com and they will stay up.

I have personally learned a tremendous amount from Rick over the years.

Without a doubt he has completed his Mission of informing the world about domains through his blog and making all of us a lot more money.

Congrats to Rick.

So the self proclaimed Domain King is going to exit stage left just prior to generic gtld rollout when his followers need him most ? Am I missing something here?

I’m sure Rick will still make many a contribution to the world of ‘domaining’ still. It will be a loss without the same frequency of posts though.

As an industry mourns, we can only hope that Owen Frager follows suit.

Well, now what the hell are we gonna do? After reading our daily blog we use to email, text or call and bitch to one another. Rick was easy cause he didn’t give a @#% but now we have to find another leader type that won’t get their butt hurt when peeps start talkin shit. Personally, I am already going through withdrawls. Like the intox tank for drunks…maybe a domain intox tank for me, anyone know of such a place…..Kev

Wonder if such will have bearing on the probability of the contemplated/potential T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Las Vegas show for May 2012

they can just post anonymously. and be judged on the value of what they say, instead of the name attached to it. at least, in theory.

Blog or not is irrelevant – anybody that claims they are not a student of Rick’s style and philosopy – is a fool who is affraid to make a bunch of dough.

It is a sign of things to come? Rick’s exit, FS selling. Is the end of domaining in sight??

If I were to appraise the single most valuable piece of information I ever learned about domain name speculating- that made me money and will continue to make me money, that is roundly ignored by so many yet so obvious- it was a piece of insight from a particular Rick Schwartz post.

If you’ve read Frank Schillings old blog, read Rick Schwartz’s blog, read the archives at DNJournal and still cannot make money with domain names, check your pulse because you’re probably in a coma.

You don’t have to agree with everyone about everything, but to be taken seriously, you have to be objective and give credit where its due. That cat deserves A LOT of credit.

Never understood why a guy of Adam Strong’s stature needs to make cowardly alias comments as David- is your hate for rick that important not to let go of for your own sake? So he dumped you from his forum. You acted like an ass- always.
