Quite a few single word domains sold on Namejet.com this week and non of the prices seemed to high.

Stocked.com led the way off of our sheet selling for just $11K.

    BS Domains was right…

  2. 2011 November 18

in my opinion, FirstPrize.com is the best of the list

  3. 2011 November 18

Again folks, domains are just BS word games.

Stop buying junks on the internet, go patronize your local neighborhood stores.

Buy what you need rather than what you want.

    I liked FirstPrize.com as well
To me OrganicFruit.com was the best deal

There’s just no way installments.com went for $3,401. It’s been owned by Demand since ’99.

You sure it wasn’t the .net?

Of the rest, I think Saloons.com for $2K is the best deal. Love one word dotcoms.

    @Tony,
“Love one word dotcoms.” – and that would be their only value, if any.
    - what would installments.com represent – mortgages ? – or better yet – just something to put on the fireplace mantel to collect dust ?

How about Unless.com, Terrors.com, Recovers.com, Nephews.com or Recommends.com – right on the same fireplace mantel

obedient.com – S&M – very good buy in the adult world

    Saloons.com I almost rebid – same reason I bought Tunnels.com and Chloride.com a while back

I wonder if Mikey would have bid on that one – with his Bars.com, Pubs.com and Grills.com

Brian, installments would be good for any loan/mortgage related company… much better than the other one worders. I was on vaca this past week. Would’ve bid it much higher for it.

Tony, Where were you at without an internet connection – the Moon ::))

I agree mostly with what has been said, and of course I had momentarily forgotten that these domains are really entering in the as owned by resellers. I tend to buy my domains retail, so is it at all unreasonable to hope to sell them at the usually much higher SEDO type prices. I believe I saw a domain: SiteWeb.com go for was it !00K, just like a week back on this website.

What do the folks here think of private domain selling (as opposed to auctions)?

Do people here also notice some of the trends where the dot orgs may even be preferential to the .coms?

Getting a one word .com is definitely a steal particularly for Saloons.com , for $2,050??? What would a domain like that go for in the Sedo auction?

    authorizing.com … another steal at…$1,221

Not everyone has the guts to invest money and try to resell domains. NameJets is almost all back-ordered, dropped domains right?

I was visiting family – a newborn and a 19 mo old so yeah I might as well have been on the moon.

    :)

Just got Myelomas.com for regfee. Feels good to be back.

Hasn’t the recession betting hitting the wholesale market since 2009, really? It seems that way to me. Retail market seems to have been strong though, with a few bumpy patches.

I do think though we have the potential for a hellacious recession much worse than we have seen in the last few years coming down the pipeline, and it’s my guess that the old-school domainers that are still here, alive and kicking that is, like most of the posters on this board, have a sense a shit-storm is coming and are pulling back now instead of later. Most of us have gotten smarter from the Great Recession and are preparing earlier this time around.

Time to cut the cord and keep the homestead warm and protected from the Dollar blizzard coming. :)

I think we are seeing the effect of money flowing into other extensions like

    .Co

    because even couple years ago

these domains would have fetched a lot lot more than this.

SkiBoats.com for under 10K would have been unheard of 2 years ago.

SkiBoats.com is far better than BoatingIndustry.com. One new owner gets a great deal, whereas another past company overpaid for their domain. The domains on the better of the list are good deals.

  18. 2011 November 19

The domains on the bottom of the list are good deals.

Installments is great for paying by installments. In many countries a saloon is a four door car, so saloons.com is a widespread, expensive consumer product as well as a drinking place. Bargains.

Thanks Michael for clarifying that. I get these lists from Name Jet, yet it was the 11K sale that grabbed my attention. How about BackUps.org for $1,619! With files getting larger all the time, one would think backups.org would fetch 10 times that. Have you guys considered that Name Jets just does attract the same crowd, as say Afternic or Sedo. I admit i did not like the Afternic method (somehow)!

How do you guys feel about the artificial ceiling of 10K for a domain of Sedo without getting one of their “paid” appraisals. I do not want to admit to really needing cash (ooops) but I want to get a fair price for some of my cool domains like:

    OhItsEasy.com
    TodaysClouds.com

Even that stingy Estibot is saying I have some good valuable domains like:

    HyIpListings.com
TradeName.us (according to the “bot” is above 2K now.

And get this estibot finally graced me with a 1ok domain, then bumped it down to 9.3K with WordWorld.org

I finally parked some domains at Sedo after seeing some of my best domains (that were collecting dust tank to like a mere 25% of their value just one week prior).

How do you guys feel about Boxcar.com or Domaining.com ? I am willing to give name Jet a try as well, they take Paypal right?

    Holy cow,

I didn’t see these one worders since I was on vacation.

Awesome names, I LOVE one word .coms.

    DAMMIT!

I saw it with the results of the traffic auction…..severe price reductions and fewer bidders on preminium domains. installments.com is way way off the value,skiboats.com the same problem.with 70 million us citizens on food stamps and a dead gov
problems are not going to go away. Just try and get a loan from a bank today…as with all asset classes wholesale and retail prices are way off the mark…you can buy a 250K home in las vegas for 50k today in a neighbrohood that is abandoned due to the financial crisis.the key is to develope your domains into cash generating websites….forget ppc.

I have a few beliefs about the domain marketplace.

    1) Yes, the economy is taking its toll.

    2) People are losing faith in the US economy, and the ability to develop new businesses.

    3) The main force driving any sort of domain sales, is “New Website Development”, if this slows down, so will new domain registration and so will the domain trade.

    4) ICANN- Choosing this time to “flood the market” with their gTLD’s may have been a reaction to “Global Pressures” however I would venture that its not helping the middle level people and small business types here in the US. I believe the timing behind the ICANN offer of selling gTLD’s to anybody with $185,000 a computer and a dream was extremely poorly timed.

BTW, I had previously posted an incorrect link for SocialAdvertising.org

Sorry about that, here’s a tip, when your buying a domain at the registrar be sure to check your spelling!
