The seller of Dam got robbed.
the selling prices aren’t so high … low value domains or effect of the economy crisis?
I saw that damn price wow, that is at least a 50% discount.
Dam.com is worth at least 3-4 times what was paid, probably much more.
Buyer got a good deal on Dam.com
Dam.com was a Damm good deal @$6500, too bad the owner didn’t have it listed with
Sedo, at least he could have took it to a marketplace auction after receiving the offer.
Just goes to show you how bad the economy really is, he/she probably needed the money
for something urgent. All I know is that I would have a pressing need to sell a 3 letter dot com at that price!
There are so many domainers who have gone through every 3l scenario and spammed owners into selling, DAM is an easy 10k just by making a single call to a sedo broker, they could find a buyer within a day.
Dam was a website until recently.
I’m sure the seller was not a domainer.
So, he might not have been knowledgeable about domain valuations.
I hope no one at Afternic counseled him to sell at this pricepoint.
Also remember, the seller only netted $ 5,200. after 20% commission.
Ouch !
I would’ve paid that for Dam.com in a heartbeat.

Man United is the biggest sports brand on the planet BAR NONE, they are promoting and making money off the back of selling a TM term. Whats the difference between them doing that and a website having links to copyright material that gets shut down?
