just few/good .co has been sold at good prices so .co domains aren’t an “huge success”

There have been some nice reported sales and better unreported sales.

The extension is only a year old.

You have to give new extensions time to mature in the market.

Pass. Except for sex.co, these are all pretty much garbage.

I sometimes even struggle to find ONE reported .co sale in the weekly sedo/afternic sales reports …. All I see is the occasional x,xxx or xx,xxx once a month.

@Adam – Whether he was paid for the article or not, is it really any of your business?

Nice collection of .COs. Assets.CO is my favourite.

I htink there is going to be tons of great news for the .co world in the upcoming weeks. I have SEXHD.co and tried to get it in the auction with no luck. Oh well.

Did Commodity.Co just sell for $20k on Sedo?

I let 8 out of 9 of my .Co’s lapse and only kept Summer.Co . I knocked back an offer of $5500 and this because of some nice Google stats.

Still not sure about their place in the domain world, maybe 2-3 yrs from now we’ll get a better picture.

.CO had Joan Rivers, and the Superbowl less than a year ago, think about it: SUPERBOWL! And, I still don’t know if many people know or even care about the extension in the real world.

I developed a few of my own .CO, for example

    Cheddar.CO
    Dictate.CO
    Divider.CO
    Eliminate.CO
    PlasmaTelevision.CO
    SatelliteTelevision.CO

Some are doing quite well, because they are indexed. I’ll keep monitoring the stats for now.

SEX.CO FAILS TO SELL @ T.R.A.F.F.I.C. which bye the way is going to undergo a name change to T.R.A.G.I.C.
Guess guys will be real happy to have spent 2K plus for paid placement when there were 6 guys in the room and the auctioneer spent a secon and a half on their names. Sex.co has to be one of the best names in the extension and its failure to garner a significant bid finally should put to rest the yippee yellers promoting this obviously worthless typo extension.

    @Braddy

    auction hasn’t even started yet.

this is what it has come down to, insecure .com people looking to sabotage

    .Co

good fortunes. Cure – join the .Co team.

  15. 2011 October 18

remember gay.xxx sold purportedly for $500k

    so

SEX.Co fair market value is $2 million plus.

  16. 2011 October 18

I predict there will be an independent study out soon

    that show that

    .Co

sites are more efficient, downloads faster, and more secure than .com

    “auction hasn’t even started yet.”

    Misinformed like usual.

Anyone know the high bid on Sub.co? Saw it mentioned in the press release. .COmmander Cline has been a strong proponent of LLL .CO’s and this being a word, it certainly must have garnered a lot of interest.

  19. 2011 October 18

I don’t think anyone goes to Traffic auctions anymore.

There was an adult portfolio that included the following could easily have gone for $100k but only had a bid of $2.5k

    Adult Portfolio includes: sexparty.com/sexparty.net /jerkoff.com virginxxx.com/peepingtoms.com/peepingtoms.org/nudehomepage.com nudesexgames.com/nudewallpaper.com/ebonyhookers.com, ebonyphotos.com/ebonywoman.com/bizzaresex.com/best-porn.com asianlesbian.com/asianphonesex.com/prostitutesonline.com

    are you kidding me ?

“”Did Commodity.Co just sell for $20k on Sedo?”‘

Yes actually it was our domain, we sold it

  21. 2011 October 18

    JTW,

Which are the other 8 names you let go? I let go my Sorethroat.co, reluctantly, and a few others.

  22. 2011 October 18

    @MHB,

Sedo sells names dependent on who you are. If I owned it, of which I do own lots of .CO’s better than Commodity.co, they will never let it see the light of day. It’s very annoying, sir.

    @MHB

    Uzoma does have a point.

My Summer.Co stats (37.2m – Mthly broad searches, 246k – Mthly exact searches) are great but Sedo aren’t interested, however I have seen other individuals sell less brandable/marketable .Co’s thru Sedo!

It’s not sour grapes rather an attempt to figure the best way to deal in this marketplace.

commodity.co is a lot more valuable than summer.co

  26. 2011 October 18

    MHB.

You are probably right about the value being a lot higher. Can you tell me/us how you reach that conclusion though. I truly want to know as I am a comparative newbie at this and, despite my electrical engineering background, cannot work out how these things are valued. It’s honestly got me stumped.

Any info would be great Mike,

    JTW.

  27. 2011 October 18

    @MHB,

I also want you to respond to JTW’s question, after that, then, I will like to remind you that Sedo not only deal in offer/counter offer, it actually runs auctions almost daily/weekly/monthly, and it pre-selects domains it will allow into the auction; we all apply, but only a few in the cabal get selected, evn if their domains are of lesser value. Sometimes, a person’s entire portfolio is featured, some that is connected.

    Guys

This sale was NOT a result of an auction or a domain “placed for sale”

We have our entire inventory listed on Sedo and Afternic with a make an offer with instructions to them not to contact us unless they have a party willing to spend at least $10K

So this was a private sale through Sedo not an auction

Do you know who bought your domain, maybe it was someone from .CO?.
Of course I do not know this but I know other things.

    .CO should be ashamed !!!!

I am not sure about onlinecasino.co sale as this domain belonged to guy(iskia@yahoo.com) who has plenty .co premium domains, if I can call .co premium, which were registered in march 2010 and all his domains are for sale, most on sedo. You should not trust that guy as I see many strange things regarding him.
.CO was saying that for them is important development but somehow I see other facts.
.CO is powered by Colombia If you were once there like me You would understand very quickly all.
    People with these email iskia@yahoo.com, rz.olga@yahoo.com, domains411@gilinski.com
and 1-2 more (I have somewhere) keep all premium .co domains which were registered in march 2o10 so before you all had chance.

The domain name is still in Sedo escrow again allegations of such conduct can be actionable, so unless you have facts in hand don’t go around throwing out unfounded theories.

    MHB,

Thanks for taking the time to let us know this was your domain.

I think people, esspecially those newer to the industry, would be better suited spending more time reading and/or listening and less time feeling they are being treated unfairly. This is not a knock at those people, just my opinion.

We have all been in a position where we felt our domain may be better than someone else’s only to later understand how wrong we may have been. It’s natural for us to allow our mind to play tricks on us before we have the experience which comes from years of domaining.

Getting back to the topic at hand, I think due to the current state of the economy, some of the domains picked up over the next 5-7 years will be resold for significant profits in the coming decades for those with a longer term outlook.

In the near term it’s hard to predict where things will go with .CO. As I’ve said in the past total domain sales, site development, .CO marketing and domain resale prices will be the key to building a solid .CO foundation. To date we have seen steady growth across the board on these items but nothing “bubble like” to my knowledge with .CO.

    Best of luck to all!
