According to a press release, CafeMom has launched Mom.com, as a daily deals website.

“The free shopping service, launched nationally and in an initial test market, offers families deals of 50% off or more on nearby restaurants, salons, stores, activities and services.”

” The first local market in Northern New Jersey has registered more than five thousand users and generated thousands of transactions in its first weeks of operation.”

Mom.com subscribers receive an email each day highlighting opportunities with nearby stores and services.  Mom.com is able to negotiate these compelling deals with merchants who believe moms are the key decision-makers for household purchases and want to reach this sought-after target audience.

“Launched in late 2006, CafeMom is the #1 site on the internet for moms and the premier strategic marketing partner to brands that want to reach moms in a rapidly changing digital environment.”

“CafeMom reaches more than 7MM unique visitors per month on cafemom.com and 20MM+ unique visitors per month on CafeMom Plus (comscore, Dec. 2010), a boutique network of sites that reach moms and parents. ”

“CafeMom lead investors are Highland Capital Partners and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.”

“The Company was founded by Andrew Shue and Michael Sanchez.”

The domain name Dad.com is for sale on Sedo.com

the site’s design is beautiful but it aims to an already very crowded (or very GROUPONed) market

    Hi Micheal,

I did not take the photo…

I have had it so long, I forget were it came from.

Must have been taken somewhere in Florida I would guess…

I think it was just someone catching the “gator” in action…lol

Imagine being in the house, and thinking you have a ‘knock on the door’…and you open the door and find this dude looking at you… that would scare the living %$& out of anyone.

I would guess most every house in Florida has a very strong screen door ;)

Maybe he has a ‘key’ :)

    @ “MHB”

They find all kinds of other thing in condos also…like 15 foot Python snakes etc…

Who knows, this ‘gator’ might have just come from a ‘gated condo complex’ and after hours of trying to get in, he decided to go next door to a single family house…pissed that he could not get in the condo complex ;)

    Peace!

There is a new online discount sweeping the country this holiday season, called “Printapons” where a local store is featured every day with huge discount.

That is a very cool use for a great domain…!…

I love the idea of taking the general ‘deals’ idea, and applying it to a specific market (ie Moms).

    Yes, I like that.
