The extended domain name auction from Domainfest which is winding up on Snapnames.com today is going to finish with around $145K in sales.

There is still one domain getting some bidding action as of time of publication but its still under $1K.

Here are the results I have and they are UNOFFICIAL.

The domain that sold for the most, ias.com appears to be a actual operating site for the sale of used airplanes.

With over 4,000 visitors a month (according to Compete) it looks like a very good buy for anyone wanting to get into that business.

I don’t know if or how many registered users the operating site had but it looks like a great deal for the buyer.

I am sure for Moniker it’s a paltry sum, judging by their previous auctions, but for anyone else it’s a decent take. It seems the sales market is leveling out, where there are not that many big ticket sales, but the sales of small and mid size domains seems to be on the upswing. Afternic has consistently reported sizable sales amounts (from small and mid range transactions) in the last few months. I think it’s a trend we will see more and more.

This auction had mostly higher priced domains and therefore didn’t receive the sell through rate as it had in the past

    ias.com for $28K ? What year is it 2007 ? Can’t believe I missed this one.

Hmmm…. Seems to me that the currently domain name auctions are trending downward!

Maybe we need to consider that people are tightening their belts (businesses included) and are not willing to shell out the same kind of cash that they where 2 even 3 years ago.

The numbers just dont seem to be there at the moment.
    Just my thoughts

    Cheers

@ slate- People are buying. They’re just being selective. When you see names with high reserves or mediocre names then you get mediocre results.

Um, it would seem the.co auction with far less domains just beat the moniker auction by a nose in both highest selling domain and total value.

Please note I’m stating this objectively because I’m not a particular fan of co or anything. I just find it interesting.

I think Considerate.com sold for $4,130 and there was a last minute bidder and I was the winner of the auction.

I think MyHeart.com was a great buy for the buyer. I could see that being a high 5 to low 6 figure name when an end user comes looking for it.
