The domain name Poker.ca sold yesterday at the SnapNames.com iGambling auction for $400K.

I marks another huge sale for Moniker.com who seems to be on fire.

Moniker has sold Slots.com, Photo.com, Guns.com, BoardGames.com and Dating.com in just the last 60 days.

That over $10 Million dollars in sales.

Wow

I’m not sure but I think Poker.ca is a record sale for a .CA domain.

Congrats to Monte and the team.

Thanks Folks! For Gambling names, .ca also plays into California now that they have passed positive legislation for Poker and other Gaming. Canada has been turning to earning tax dollars through online gambling. The Lotto Commission in Quebec is all over the vertical now.

We will see a few of these names go and have some more from yesterday’s auction about to close as well.

Nice to see this sale, I think the known sales record for a .ca is Jobs.ca which sold for around $600,000.

“…For Gambling names, .ca also plays into California now that they have passed positive legislation for Poker and other Gaming.”

Except .CA is a closed CCTLD so Californians or any other Americans can’t take advantage of that unless the policy changes.

    Yep, congrats to both parties.
Moniker is kicking some butt right now with their brokerage division.

Additionally, congrats to the guy who posted above me, for having a cool photo accompanying his post!

Oh, in that case… forget it 😉

    Just kidding.

Either way, it was cool to see a neat gravatar among the boring stock photos.

So we are looking for more big key word domains like this for DFG/Moniker auction in NY for Aug. I have some great names already and we are going to really turn up the marketing engine for all the showcase auctions on SnapNames and for the Live Auctions in NY in Aug. Prague in Oct. The auction headquarters to submit those names for consideration is: http://domainauctions.moniker.com/

Or you can email me at monte@moniker.com

Nice sale, if premised on Canada not California.

tricolorro, getting a .ca is not hard even if you reside elsewhere. Just incorporate somewhere in Canada, costs only few hundred bucks online, and that corp can own any number of .ca domains you want to pick up. Some provinces dont even need any resident directors, so no big deal. Same corporate rule for .us domains also, for instance.

We are finding mucho-values in the ccTLD-space this week. Which ccTLD will be the next .cc-.me-.tv-.co?

My guess is either .vc or .ac – we shall see 😉

    – TBC
