November 25, 2014 by Michael Berkens

Uniregistry is launching 5 new gTLD’s today the 25th of November 2014 at 16:00 UTC.

.click which will have no reserved domains except for the 100 domains registered by the registry and domain names on the ICANN collision list

.Click is priced at $5.99 at Godaddy

The other four extensions of  Uniregistry  have quite a few reserved domains after I spent a few hours checking around for domain names yesterday.

.hosting is priced at $23.99 at Godaddy.  There is already a .host and it has around 1,600 domain registrations.

.property is priced at $23.99 at Godaddy.com

.diet is priced at $14.99 at Godaddy.com

.help is also priced at $14.99 at Godaddy.

Uniregistry does not have premium priced registration and renewal domain names.

Uniregistry also announced last night that the registrar side of the business is now accepting Paypal.com and TopCoin and for every dollar spent at Uniregistry $.50 in Topcoin is earned:

“”Uniregistry now accepts PayPal. We heard you and we got it done!”

3 easy steps to connect PayPal to your Uniregistry purchases:

Before processing your payment, click on the “Change” button located next to your Payment Profile.

Choose PayPal as your payment profile.

Uniregistry is the first registrar to integrate TopCoin – a virtual currency designed for domain names and web hosting. Like frequent flyer miles for travel, TopCoin rewards purchasers with currency (aka TPC) that can be used to buy products and services.

What I take away from this is if Frank doesn’t want to keep any for himself and he’s giving them away at only $5.99 then they aren’t worth shit.

It will be interesting to watch though because all the good names will be available and they are super cheap. Let’s see what the masses think.

I think click is weak name, hence if he wants it to be popular, he needs to give away very premium names. Ones, that most registrars reserve. I think its a smart move. Since if you can get BT.click , it might be better then 3 or 4 letter version.
And people will get premium names for cheap, getting some like property.click, might give incentive for a person to try and develop the name. Since there is no upfront investment in domain.

All in all, i think thats the best move they could make. Since .click is very weak extension and competes with much better names in a flooded market. In this case, giving out everything and then some is rational strategy.

As far as I know you won’t be able to get any domains shorter than 3 character on any Uniregistry string

    Todd

According to Frank if you’ve got a .click domain you dont have to add click here.

And .property is a good domain for realtors who dont want to be known as realtors.

And .diet, well Im not sure, should be good though if Franks behind it.

Oh and dont forget .sexy if you want a sexy domain according to Frank.

    Will I invest?
Well I feel confident I can trust Frank. A lot like Rick Schwartz. I mean, these are two guys who
wouldn’t take a dime off you if it wasn’t in their best interests.
