Afilias Wins .Green To Add To Its Collection Of New gTLD Colors

March 3, 2014 by Michael Berkens

United TLD Holdco Ltd which is owned by Demand Media, Inc. (DMD) has withdrawn its application for the new gTLD .Green leaving Afilias as the sole applicant for the .Green Extension.

Last week it was revealed that some private auctions had been settled and Minds + Machines announced they had withdrawn their application for .Green, but we didn’t know who won the .Green string until now.

With the addition of  .Green Afilias seems to have almost all of the colors of the rainbow as they are the only applicant for .Red, .Pink, .Blue and .Black.

The only other applicant DotGreen Community, Inc. withdrew their application months earlier rather to participate in a private auction that according to the Minds + Machines announcement would seemly have returned them a seven figure payday

Congrats to Afilias.
