Heritage Auctions Sells $419,970 as 26 out of 68 lots sell

November 21, 2013 by Raymond Hackney

XZ.com leads them all selling for $120,000 plus the Buyers premium made the total cost.

26 out of the 68 lots sold, (excuse the initial headline when I copied and pasted originally a few of the sales showed up twice when I counted them) I thought it was really cool, logged in watched it live, the auctioneer I thought she was very good. Congrats to Aron all auctions should be like this for those who want to watch it over the Internet.

All sales include Buyers Premium of 15 %

I disagree I thought the auctioneer was horrible. We have up for bid lot #120, do we have a bid? No. Ok onto the next lot. That’s not the way you run an auction.

I was very skeptical but considering being a first in many ways these are “excellent results” …
Congratulations, I am sure there will be more to come, hopefully it gets more media coverage.

It wasn’t a “Used Car” or “Cattle” auction
…and either you have a bid or you don’t.. next!

XZ.com sold cheap IMHO. On the other hand, if you were looking for coin related domains, this was the auction for you.

I liked her Todd, I listened to every name and thought she actually helped the BulkDiapers.com get a sale as she made a joke and talked about Christmas.

You are right Ramahn a lot of coin related names but that was smart imo as they probably have a lot of members into the coin space.

Grading the HA auction falls into 5 Rubrics:

    Concept: A+

    Execution: A+

    Promotion: A- (TV next)

    Names: B

    Ambassadorship: A+

I give Aron high marks for pulling this off. I however, auction him to follow market demands, not to fall into the trap that has bedeviled our industry for over a decade now, and that is, to base names submitted for on who is in the inner gang; do it based on demand and supply only. It doesn’t have to be a million dollar sale to be successful. This nascent auction, tho with mixed results, got a passing grade.

Nearly half of the lots sold is not too shabby… Congrats to Aron and HA. I would imagine there will be some additional activity over the coming days as it is my understanding that the unsold lots will be available for purchase at the reserve prices.

I must also say congratulations to Aron, not only was this first auction a great success, the domains have been merged with other great assets in one of the country’s top auction-houses. WTG

Hemisphere sold – that was my pic! It will be fun to see what gets built on Hemisphere, being a classy brandable.

Congrats to Aron and Heritage Auction team for a job well done.

I was at the auction. Things went smoothly and results are very good considering it was a first by HA.

Graph can only go up from here.

All the best for future auctions.
