WordPress.com Adds .CO As Only The 5th TLD For Custom Domain Name Option For Fully Hosted WP Sites

July 23, 2013 by Michael Berkens

Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, announced today on the company blog, that it has added .CO domain names as a custom domain name option for fully hosted WordPress.com sites.

.CO becomes only the 5th TLD  joining .com, .org, .net and .me as one of only five custom domain options available through WordPress.com.

There are currently over 33 million websites and blogs in over 120 languages around the world powered by WordPress.com, including the sites of many of the most well-recognized web publishers, like CNN, TechCrunch and TED and even TheDomains.com

People can register custom .CO web addresses for their businesses, brands or blogs directly on WordPress.com.

If you want to get a custom .CO domain for a new WordPress.com site, please visit www.wordpress.com/signup.

If you want to add a .CO domain to an existing WordPress.com site, you can follow these simple instructions to get started.

Another very nice achievement for the .CO registry on its third anniversary.

.Co continues to be the model for all new gTLD’s to follow not only to gain new registrations but keep a high renewal rate and give people reason to own a .Co.
