NameJet.com To Roll Out New Beta Version Of Site Today

NameJet.com is rolling out a major upgrade to its site today.

I have been playing with a Beta Version of the site for a few days and I really like the new format.

The site has a cleaner look and feel to the site, and find its easier to navigate backorders, active auctions, reports and general browsing.

The front page has “NameJet Hot Picks”, which are “hand selected hot domains”, Last Chance where you will find a list of pending delete domains that already have backorders, pre-release domains and “New Arrivals” which features some of the newest domain in the NameJet.com system.

According to NameJet the site is mobile ready and much easier to use on phones and tablets.

The front page even features a QR code for pulling up NameJet on your cell phone (of course you need a QR reader app) but I tried it and it worked well.

Also Namejet.com says the advanced search on the new version of the site better utilizes related terms.

Namejet.com also says they will be adding features to the site including categorized inventory which promises to help you better find the domains that you are looking for.

The beta site will be available to all users shortly via banner on the homepage.

Backorder Price Wars: NameJet.com Lowers Minimum Bid On Pending Delete Domains to $59

Just weeks after SnapNames.com increase it minimum bid on pending delete domains to $69, Namejet.com just announced it was lowering the minimum bid on pending delete domains to $59.

Here is the announcement:

“”Ready to save money?

NameJet just lowered our minimum bids on all pending delete domain names to $59*!

In addition, NameJet has increased its available inventory of pending delete domains by adding TV and CC to our inventory which already includes COM, NET and ORG.

Get your backorders in now because this offer is valid for a limited time.”

This does not seem to apply to pre-release domains, which are domains held by partner registrars such as Network Solutions and Enom but only “free drop” domain names.…

I Just Signed Off & Accepted The Snapnames Settlement Agreement

Now that the new year has rolled around, I went ahead today and signed the amended Snapnames.com settlement agreement arising out of the Halvarez bidding scandal.

Once I determined based on my own records that all amounts were credited to me for auctions in which Halvarez finished second and once the release was amended to limit it to the activity under the bidder account of Halvarez I made up my mind that I was going to accept my mid five figure settlement and move on.

I wanted to wait until the new year until I executed the agreement, since I’m not sure what the tax implications of receiving the cash will be, and didn’t want to have to deal with it this April.

I’m taking the funds in the form of a credit, as I’m still actively buying domains off the snapnames platform and expect to be pretty active this year, as I’m seeing some nice domains dropping and expect even more drop will this year with the decline of PPC revenue and the increase in renewal fees.

Could I have filed suit and tried to get more?

Sure, but at the end of the day I do believe that the problem here was created by one rouge employee of the company and not part of a plan of the company itself to boost revenue.

Moreover much of the damage was done prior to Oversee buying the company and there is still no indication that any of this would have come to light if Oversee had not exposed it themselves.

I do think that such corporate conduct should be rewarded rather used as an opportunity to try to punished the company.

I have no desire to punish Oversee or Snapnames and don’t see anyway their failure would benefit our industry.

The last thing we need is one of the few companies in our industry that has received major capital investment from outside venture capital firms to fail or be a losing venture.

Finally if other problematic bidders are found in the future, I have not waived my rights to seek compensation for their actions.…

12 Three Number .Mobi’s Are Dropping Tomorrow

It’s pretty unusual to see three number domains dropping, but tomorrow it looks like there are at least 12 three number .mobi doing just that.

I’m not big on .mobi but I know some of you are and 3 numbered domains are always in demand.

A Ton Of 3 Letter .Org’s Dropping Today

Its not often that you see a three letter domain drop naturally, and today by my count there are at least 35 of them.

These are actual drop domains, so they can be caught by any drop service or even with you own script (if you have one).

If you want to go after any of these, you need to backorder them, with your favorite, or all your favorite drop services, like Snapnames.com, NameJet.com, and/or Pool.com by their respective deadlines today:

POOL.com Top Drop List Is Full Of Trademark Infringing Domains

Everyday pool.com sends out a list for the Top Deleting Domains for the next day.

If you check out Pool.com “Top Deleting Domains” list for tomorrow, I think you will see a common theme, trademark infringing domains.

Actually out of the 30 domains listed, over half, 18 by my count, are bang on trademark infringing domains.

I understand that if a domain is scheduled to drop, it’s going to drop, but why advertise them and send out a newsletter highlighting such crap?
