According to British research firm Trendstream’s Global Web Index, Google+ is now the 2nd largest social network, passing Twitter.

Here are the ranking according to Trendstream:

1.  Facebook: 693 million monthly users, 51% of all internet users

2.  Google+: 343 million monthly users, 25% of all internet users

3.  Twitter: 288 million monthly users, 21% of all internet users

4.  YouTube: 280 million monthly users, 21% of all internet users

What the report doesn’t take into account is the level of engagement.
While TheDomains.com maintains an account at Twitter, Facebook.com and Google + we are engaged much more on Facebook and Twitter, however Google + maybe the most important as Google has promised that Google+ profiles will factor more in search rankings over time, and over the last couple a months already Google + accounts are placing picture on the new feed of the authors of certain publications.

Thats a lots of jibber from a lot of folks who have no life and no money – but are incredible geniuses – including they would rather buy the latest smart phone instead of paying their rent.

I can tell you I was looking at the social media widget on my blog recently and going back through all posts in the last 6+ months or so I couldn’t find one single share on Google Plus, yet I had some posts that the widget showed were even shared several times through email. So as for my own personal stats, email > google plus. or perhaps its only domainers that do not believe in google plus … ?

All I can tell you is that its now the second ranked in social networking users and that it is somewhat integrated with Google search, check out these results:

    http://news.google.com/news/search?ned=us&hl=en&q=%22domain+name&cf=all&scoring=n

You see that 3 of the stories have the name of the author and a picture?

    That’s all due to Google+
