A UDRP has been filed against the domain name manhattancenter.com
A quick check of Google finds a lot of places in Manhattan that are called the Mahattan Center, including
Manhattan Center Adelphi University
Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics
But the granddaddy of them all is the Manhattan Center building, which was build in 1906 and is currently the home of a recording studio, television studio, post production facilities, and The Hammerstein and The Grand which “offer an elegant setting for events of all kinds”.
The Manhattan Center bill itself as the place “to make your next event a complete multimedia experience”.
The Center’s official site is at mcstudios.com,
Although the center has several trademarks none seem to be on the term “Manhattan Center”
The center does appear to hold live trademark for:
MMAC MANHATTAN MOVEMENT & ARTS CENTER and MANHATTAN CENTER HAMMERSTEIN BALLROOM THE GRAND BALLROOM.
Actually I didn’t find any live trademark for the term “Manhattan Center”
The complainant of the UDRP is not yet listed but the domain name current registration goes back to 2004.
The domain name goes to a parked page where some of the results are for the concerts and the HAMMERSTEIN BALLROOM.
Other keywords are for things like insurance.
Should be an interesting case and we will keep an eye on it for you
