Quick Poll: Which Domain Priced $100K Or More Will Sell At Domainfest.com

2012 January 27
by Michael H. Berkens

The live Domainfest Global domain name auction will be held on February 2nd at noon EST.

Online bidding will be available on SnapNames.com

As we usually do we are opening up the poll to see which of the domains with a reserve of $100K or more you think will sell.

In all there are 21 domain names priced $100K or higher.

We will give you three picks but you must make them all at the same time before hitting submit on the poll on the right.

For bragging rights you can also make your picks in the comments.

You as always have the choice of  “None of the domains will sell”

Here are your choices:

eco.org $100,001 – $250,000

    EVE.com, makes a a good brand for a company like EveOnline.com

    Also Reconnect.com

  2. 2012 January 27

My bet is for inspection.com, it will be sold with a ready-to-operate web business built by Left of the Dot Media. The brand and sale includes a collection of names for the $2B+ Home & Commercial Inspection industry, including Inspection.com and 88 other inspection-related domain names that will enable the buyer to create the industry’s dominant lead generation network.

    eco.org is a perfect domain

  4. 2012 January 27

I think QR.com will be the biggest sale. Hell if I had a mil I would buy it.

  5. 2012 January 27

Best name by far is Security.com, which if it goes for $1M it’s a steal. I would actually expect that CA shareholders might object to it, if it gets publicized.

It’s such a waste that a software company that produces security products hasn’t done anything with this name for years. The sale of Platinum.com I get, but not this domain.

So that’s my pick. If the reserve is $1M any of CA’s competitors or even SalesForce (granted it is a departure from their core service) would be foolish not to snap it up.

    Going with work.com

  7. 2012 January 27

eo.com or jackpot.com would be my top tips

  8. 2012 January 27

    Empire.com
    EO.com
    Democracy.com

  9. 2012 January 27

I think eve.com is the best among this list.
If I have to buy I would like to choose this one.

BTW Mike, what’s the prize for guessing right? Can the winner choose any domain from your inventory, or do we have to settle for just a smug feeling?

    Looks like my post with picks was lost;

    Jackpot.com
    Servers.com
    Eo.com

    Well

1st its not my inventory (actually I don’t have any domains in this auction)

2nd I don’t work for Oversee and don’t get any commission on any sales.

3rd the prize is equal to the cost of entry x2

Mike, I know those aren’t your names – I was hoping we could just pick one of yours ;-)

  17. 2012 January 27

I voted for EO, 12, and ECO.

There are a lot of great names on the list, I won’t be surprised to see names sell for $100k to $200k. What I’m really watching is how many will sell for $500K+.

    work.com

I’m thinking the ones most likely to sell are in the lower price points, and shortest

    eco.org
    eo.com
    qr.com

empire.com is going to appeal to a lot of guys in that room with that kind of cash, I would love to have that name (and that kind of cash, hehe)

sensibly, I like qr.com and security.com to sell. So I will go with those three. Security.com is a beast.

Personally, I like servers.com too. I just hand reg’d a couple server related names – a combo package, one brandable, one for keyword search, LTOservers.com and leasetoownservers.com – I think this segment of the market is going to pick up bigtime.

These ones look like bargain reserves:

    Democracy.com
    qr.com
    servers.com

Most of the others look to be in “retail” range and could very-well be worth the price but this crowd is mostly a wholesale group, no?

  23. 2012 January 27

I don’t think any of them will sell genuinely “live” i.e. some may well sell afterwards with a bit of horse-trading, but none will sell at those reserves in the room at auction time.

  24. 2012 January 27

Unless there are “end-users” bidding, I don’t think any will sell if just domainers are bidding.

    Bargain.com hands down………….even at a million dollars…………it’s a bargain!

  26. 2012 January 27

    My pick-3:
    eco.org
    security.com
    work.com

  27. 2012 January 28

None of these domains will sell during the auction…but deals will be made for much lower prices after the auction closes!!!

    Good Luck!!!

  28. 2012 January 28

    empire.com, bargain.com and host.com will sell.

  29. 2012 January 28
    Kevin permalink

I don’t see any of these selling at the live auction, but perhaps later when the prices come down to market reality range.

  30. 2012 January 28

Jackpot.com is definitely worth in that price range, but the days of live auctions are long passed. The biggest deals are now done one-to-one (with either a private seller or broker) to an enduser. There are practically zero endusers at auctions.

  31. 2012 January 28

Yup …you would have thought by now that domain auctions should have evolved past the “domainer to domainer wholesale” concept. Obviously, they have not.

    Need some advice.

My boss is starting a new division that will introduce buyers and sellers of banks. Big banks buying smaller banks, and as part of what we do, we’ll list those selling banks with whom we have a contract on our site. The banks are all classified as commercial banks, but the search volume for just “banks for sale” is much greater than “commercial banks for sale”.

My question is this, which of these two domains would make more sense to put a developed site together:

    BanksForSale.info

    or

    CommercialBanksForSale.com

The same guy owns both these domains and he wants roughly the same price for each. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

  35. 2012 January 28
    Tom Fowler permalink

I was mistaken in the message above – the two domains are owned by different people, but the asking price is almost exactly the same ($1200 for the .info and $1000 for the .com)

  36. 2012 January 28

QR.com and Homeowner. I don’t think we’ll see any of the $750,000+ reserve names sell.

  37. 2012 January 29

    superb names… Host.com
    Servers.com
    Emails.com
Are superb names which i like to buy if they are in my budget :)

    Others are also good… :P

  38. 2012 January 29

    None will sell. Too overprice…

  39. 2012 January 29

    Empire.com

the next name of Google.com :(

  40. 2012 January 29

Ofcourse 2 character domains will go beyond 100k. But no cctlds at domainfest? Or there will be sale of cctlds as well at domainfest?

  41. 2012 January 29

    @Tom Fowler
    CommercialBanksForSale.com

  42. 2012 January 29
    Louise permalink

    QR.com!!! Bargain price: <$500,000.

    2nd choice, Work.com

  43. 2012 January 29

can someone tell me if there is any demand for cctlds at domainfest? I have done some googling but I was unable to find any sales for .de domains in the past..at domainfest.. or am I wrong?
