Rumor Mill: ICANN Jordan Meeting To Be Canceled

by Michael H. Berkens

I just received a tip that ICANN will shortly be announcing the cancellation of the June Meeting schedule for Amman Jordan.

As ICANN announced yesterday that they would not be voting on the new gTLD’s at the San Fransisco meeting, focus has already shifted to the Jordan meeting as the time and place that new gTLD’s framework would finally be approved.

I’m also hearing that the June meeting might wind up in a place like Singapore.

Personally I would welcome the move as part of my new venture RIGHT OF THE DOT, I really need to go to the meeting but with all the unrest in the middle east which seems to be spreading on almost a daily basis, I was going to pass on Jordan.

We will see if there is any announcement from ICANN on this in the next couple of days.

I would attend in Singapore, since I’m living in Bali now it’s only a $100 flight on AirAsia and jus a couple hours, and singapore is a cool city-state. Why not.
