Is “Google Me” In The Works as a Facebook Killer? Google Owns Both Versions

CNN is reporting that a new service called “Google Me” maybe in the works,

The report also citing Tech Crunch says that Google Games is a definate go, in conjunction with the gaming company Zynga maker of the “FarmVille” game.

Google owns the domain GoogleGames.com.

However the report says that Google may have its eye on Facebook and may go with “Google Me” to launch a site that would compete with FaceBook.

Google owns the domain Googleme.com as well as Google.Me.

Yahoo recently announced that it acquired Me.Me to launch a new social networking site.

If Google goes with “Google Me”, I would have to assume they would use both domains, giving an added boost to .Me.

    I thought about this before, but Google uses Google.me for their Montenegro search engine.

    Google already owns orkut.com a social networking site that competes with facebook (but nowhere as close to facebook). These users will give them a head start if google migrate them to the new platform. I have used orkut more than facebook because of the better integration with google services.

    @Elliot

    “Google Me” should be the NAME of the service, not its domain, and, probably, it will be a further voice of the Google SE menu

    I f****ing loath social networking. I think it is the dumbest crap ever.

    1. Facebook is a business platform – designed to gather information about you.

    2. That information = $$$

    3. Oh, yeah, and it “connects” you to all your friends. So it knows everything about you.

    4. SKYNET.
