A video clip of the the worlds first ATM machine that dispenses not cash, but gold was spotted by many people including Joshua S. Bourne, Managing Partner of FairWinds Partners, LLC which is one of the founders of CADNA (Coalition Against Domain Name Abuse)
The machine was installed in the The Emirates Palace, one of the top hotels in Abu Dhabi.
Customers can use either cash or a credit card to get small gold bars (up to 10 grams) or coins.
On the Fairwinds Domain Strategy Blog Mr. Bourne writes:
“”The earliest mention of the gold dispensing ATM in the news that I could find was from the end of March. So I decided to see if anyone had registered GoldATM.com. As it turns out, Oversee.Net, a company that monetizes, registers, sells and develops domain names, registered the domain on April 2. It seems to me that Oversee is keeping a close eye on the news to determine which domain names to register. For a company whose business model revolves around attractive domain names, that is a very smart move.
For the record Oversee.net registered the domain on April 2, 2010.
Nice to see Fairwinds having some nice words for a newly hand registered domain and Oversee.net.
Good pickup.

Good Morning MHB:
Out of the topic here but something to ponder about the trip you guys going to take to Vancouver for the Traffic seminar.
Just be aware that Homeland Security (HS) has the names of domainers that are anti-Obama and HS will look at your laptops for pornography and some of you are on the no-fly list.
You might not come back to USA and all your domains will be confiscated.
Your cellmates will be DomainRapists, DomainCheaters and DomainRacists.
Good Luck all….

First of all I’m not going to Vancouver but to the ICANN meeting instead, second of all I have no idea of what you are taking about, with the exception of being careful what you have on your computer whenever you travel back to the US as I have written about that issue previously

MHB-from my reliable sources, HomeLand Security does not like Domainers .

I guess we will see.
To date I have not received any report of any domainer being given a “hard time” by Homeland Security and the Milan show was just last month

“HomeLand Security does not like Domainers”
What a rediculous statement to make.
Domainers are not a threat to national security.
They might take notice of businessman that do a number of large int’l wire transfers.
They might take notice of people that often travel to questionable countries. (Sudan, Columbia, Pakistan, Mexico City, etc.)
IRS might be monitoring the int’l activities of major poker domain owners.
FBI might be monitoring major pornographic domain owners.
However, if you somehow get on their radar at the airport and then they check your computer and you have illegal pornographic material on it or if you used your laptop will using coke, you might have some problems.
But, as a segment of the business world, Homeland is not watching us. They have bigger fish to fry.

R.M— take it easy man..it was meant to be…just like BullS site.

Oversee might have got it on the drop in April ?
Archive.org shows it was first registered in 2002 and there are a few other results in Google to suggest it dropped within the last couple of months.
I first read about it on GulfNews a while back, apparently its been on test in Germany during 2009 and this is the first international one.
They use the brand name goldtogo.com, gold-to-go.com
nice idea

Really great idea! I’m not talking about the domain, I’m talking about the machine.
I cant see it happening in the US…
