While the live auction from DomainFest Ft. Lauderdale is still going, so far two of those category killer domains have sold.

Dating.com just sold for $1,750,000 and BoardGames.com sold for $450K a little while ago.

The bidding got as high as $2M on Jeans.com, but no sale.

You can see the final results of our poll, which I closed for voting right before the auction started.

So far you guys picked out the two domains that sold (of course not counting the 37 of you that thought none would sell)

We will be back later

Sounds like good activity going on there. Like to see if Dating.com turns into a force in the competitive dating sites.

Jeans.com, I thought would be the top seller and it would of if seller accepted.
Need to go direct to Levi Jeans for bigger dollars.

    Thanks, Jim

Jim….I doubt Levis would see the value.

It is almost always the entrepreneurs and mid-tier companies that get the value of these domains.

I agree with Tim. Best end user sales are to entrepreneurs and mid-size companies looking for a domain vehicle to grow their market share.

$2 Mil for Jeans.com would have been a fair price.

Tony Hseish the founder/ceo of Zappos would be somebody to consider. He “gets”
it, was a speaker at domainfest, and bought clothes.com for $4.9 million. They sell Jeans as well.

    Thanks, Jim

Can anyone confirm if this was real bidding or was it the usual bidding under reserve range stuff? If known who were the bidders?

I find it a bit hard to believe it went that high, especially compared to dating.com which I think it a much stronger name.
