All domainers are quite familiar with the concept of monetizing their assets; now Twitter is looking to hire people to do just that for them.

Twitter has 26 job openings listed on its website, and 4 of them include variations on the word “monetization.”

“Twitter is looking for new members of our technical staff to work on cutting edge monetization projects”

Monetization maybe come one of those hot topics for 2010 and yes the .com domain name is registered to our fellow domainer, Mrs Jello.

    Fx

Certainly when it comes to Domainers that park most of their domains, your right.

But a lot of others read the blog as well, including people who have done development, minisites and and use affiliate programs all mixed in.

Those types might be able to teach the Twitter folks a thing or two

Quite wrong FX…….there are plenty of us that do a lot more than just domain parking.

Affiliate programs, redirects, custom deals, leases, mini-sites, etc….. I’ve developed some techniques which as far as I am aware of I am the only one doing it in the world.

Being crafty is what has made me a fortune…..without ANY real development of sites. Those that just park wilt on the vine. 🙂

About time Twitter looked at monetization! I look forward to seeing how they do it, and if they share it with their users (account holders). For example, if you had a twitter page about a city, it would be easy to shows ads down one side about that specific city. The person running the twitter page should also get a cut. It would also be nice to let users add some html, maybe let them have a 125×125 spot along the side. If done right I don’t think it will turn people off.
