Wet.net is getting a little pricey now but at $6500 I thought it was going higher, have owned Wet.tv for the last few years and it has gotten more than one offer over $6500, so I thought the .net would get to $15,000. I agree with Sahar's post 100 % because Sahar got in early does not make what he said any less true.

@ theoretical
go see where woodpellets.com points to and maybe then you'll understand.
Obviously, you've never had a pellet stove. Millions do.

Speaking of adult domains, any news or picks regarding the internext domain auction? It's in 2 or 3 weeks I believe.

@Sahar

I understand you like to be flexible in your thinking and keeping an open mind and all that wonderful stuff but in this economy discerning a good domain from a bad or a good value from an overpriced one is paramount. You had the luxury of getting in early and the resultant benefit of having early successes gives you a wider margin of error in your current domain purchases/decisions. That's great and more power to you. However, for those just starting out now or relatively recently, they would perish rather quickly if they followed your line of thinking.

This is why I appreciate it when MHB discloses what he buys and at what prices and what he thinks are overvalued. It is only one person's perspective but he is an expert of the highest caliber in the industry and his assessments give a privileged insight into the very difficult field of domain valuation (from an investor perspective) to those who do not have the benefit of having bought 6 figure domains 10 years ago for $100-1,000.

I really like wet.net - 3 letter, "cool" keyword, it even rhymes! the name could be used for a lot more than adult and there are a lot of more attractive uses for it in adult than "mature" has, even though mature has higher exact searches. mature.net a good name... wet.net has an "it" factor that takes it well beyond "good".
But you know, it's okay to not see the value in specific domains. I am still trying to understanding how WoodPellets.com is worth over more than $10k, let alone $100k :)

I still say sell! It's amazing how much a domain goes for it it is expired vs just listed. I think I'll sending out a newsletter of good domains (like wet.net, but better) that I will threaten to let expire. Let people bid for them from me, or else they can fight over it at Snapnames later. I doubt I'd have to follow through with letting one expire but only 1 way to find out.

I've been noticing some kind of herd mentality going on lately. Bidders seem to be gravitating towards the auctions with bids and bidding each other up with no real good reason to do so. Even in the day when domain auctions were rockin' bidders were not this stupid.

Sahar

The only problem with this line of reasoning is that its not one buyer involved.

There are several bidders and at least 2 people and possibly many more think this domain is a good buy at $20K+.

So its not a private sale with one person and one vision.

Which get us back tot he question of why do several people think this domain is worth over $20K?

If its for an adult domain, its quite a bit for a adult .net which is not a highly searched term.

I own Mature.net which is a top 20 adult keyword and I would sell that one for whatever the highest bid on wet.net winds up at.

Anyone interested in that offer, just e-mail me or post here
