I like to watch how my site rank changes on a daily basis. It gives me something to aim at. It's nice to see how my site ranks better and better. Some people say that Alexa ranking isn't all that accurate, but you have to start somewhere, and I personally think that it's a lot more accurate than some think it is. So, what good is it. Kind of like Howard Stern fans voting for Sanjaya. That doesn't make Sanjaya a better singer.
