Last week, SnapNames sent a message to customers notifying them that a total of 19 registrars would no longer participate in name acquisition for SnapNames auctions. We’ve since learned there was a database recordkeeping error regarding a few of these registrars. Unfortunately this caused SnapNames to incorrectly identify the names of some of the affected registrars – an example of this was the reference to Answerable in the e-mail sent to Internet Service Registrar customers. SnapNames apologizes for this confusion.

Going forward, it’s important to emphasize that customers, of course, still have access to their domain names. In fact, it’s not necessary to transfer the names if customers prefer not to. Customers with names at each of the 19 registrars will continue to manage their names as they always have, and will have full access to their names.

SnapNames has been in touch with customers to clarify the situation and answer questions. However, if any questions remain, customers should contact support@snapnames.com.
