David:

We sold bezi dot com around two weeks ago for $27k.
A name that does not mean anything like most we list at ClassyDomains.com.
But when one is searching for a name for a new product, service, character, ... these short, readable and brandable names are fantastic (and rare).

Now we calculate one need in average 50 years to make an end-user sale, so it's only a business when you own a good portfolio of such names.

Don't underestimate .TV. Immediately intuitive web address both to domainers and the general public.

Fin:

I guess it's because I tend to look at names from a development perspective. We own Eel.com and that was a cinch to launch (we sell eel skin products), but I'm curious as why you're receiving so much enduser interest from these names. Then again, I don't know what else is in your portfolio. We do get inquiries for Eel.com, but nowhere on the same level as our generics like Whisky.com or Rate.com.

If you're making money off of these more power to you. I'm glad to hear any domainer success stories in this economic climate.

David- What is it about initialisms (aka 3 or 4 letter domains) that you dont understand? Of course the maning, if any, isnt as readily apparent as it would be with natural words but taken in context meanings are there. Then too there are the inevitable typo-traffic superstars in the LLL ad LLLL space.

I've always received more end-user interest in this type of name over any other and am very glad to see the prices come back down from where they were last year.

Interracial.TV sold for $5,000, I was surprised but happy as well since I bought Moscow.tv for $7,000 last week and feel that is worth 5x more than Interracial.tv.

Cameracrew.com was a pretty good buy.

InterRacial.tv good name but at the moment overpriced. Probably a good investment a few years down the road.

In the past, short and punchy.
Today, easy to type in and short and punchy.

CNN

NBC

CIA

LG

X

BMW

UPS

Each of these has been shaped by the owner.
They all have a feel to them.
(except for X. I love X. )

I would take InterRacial.tv over GGK.com, too (though I wouldn't buy either).

I've never understood the 3 or 4 letter dotCom market for words that don't mean anything to the general public.
