by Michael H. Berkens

In a very interesting post today by Mark Jackson over at SearchEngineWatch.com, he discusses a client who hired him to do SEO work for his site.  Mr. Jackson tells the story of how he tried to convience his client it was worth spending $20K on a domain rich in keywords associated with the clients business rather than go with the $7 Godaddy avaliable domain.

He points out that when companies buy PPC advertising the cost of a geat domain can be recouped in short order.

The post goes on to discuss financing options for the purchase of domains, inclduing domaincapital.com

All and all its a very good discussion on the value of domains from a non-domainers perspective.

Good to see these guys are “getting it”and starting to recommend this marketing strategy to their clients.

It will be even better when they start recommending 200K names.

We need to find ways to build business relationships with SEO agencies that appreciate the value of domains for the companies they serve.

It’ll be well worth it for the long term. Cheers to Mark Jackson!
