Israel.com is getting good publicity in the mainstream media. I was hoping to get my IsraelLuxury.com into the auction last minute but no dice.
I might submit to the Geo Domain Expo in Chicago on July 11 - 12. Bulk submission deadline is May 27 for anyone else looking to get names in.

Nathan,
Curious what you think the value of IsraelLuxury.com is or what was your reserve? Making discussion - not interested in buying.

Greg,
I haven’t looked closely at past sales data for similar types of names, but gut is telling me to put a reserve somewhere between 12k - 20k. That might be low - I’m not sure yet.. I judge a domains value as if I am the person who will be developing the name. To me a good two word Geo dot-com is much better than a one-word with an obscure country-code.
Imho I think that IsraelLuxury.com would be in the top 4-5 Israel Geo’s to develop; probably only IsraelHotels, IsraelVacations, IsraelRealEstate, and IsraelLuxury.com could stand on their own and carve out their niche against Israel.com if it is developed properly.
The reason I like Geo-luxury.com’s is because if you look at any successful luxury line, one of the key factors is exclusivity, and distinct brand identity. I can’t think of any examples where luxury items are successfully promoted along side mass-market goods and services.
I would be curious to see what you or others think..

You guys should check out luxuryshopping.com in the live auction, and luxurygifts.com

You have to be careful with multi-word Geos. The best ones are popular phrases. For Israel, these would include:
IsraelHotels.com
IsraelRealEstate.com
IsraelGolf.com (we own this one)
IsraelVacationPackages.com
While IsraelLuxury.com is a catchy name, I’m not sure how high it would register on the direct navigation scale.
