Last time I will bother you with Marchex. But today I saw the stock get crushed again and I also saw a commercial for Debt.com on TV.

So I remembered Marchex owned Debts.com, or at least they used to own Debts.com.

Looks like they sold Debts.com to Brendhan Hight (mdnhinc.com). Are they selling their premium names?

Are you familiar with MDHC Inc.? I see that name often when looking for names to acquire.

JS

Also just on a financial basis hard to argue that Tucows is not a good buy with a market cap of $22M, with over 250,000 domains and a profitable registrar.

Marchex stock price is going to depend in large on the overall market.

If the market keeps tanking I expect marchex will follow.

If the market recovers substantially, I think it will go back into the $8-$9 range.

I am beginning to think investing in MCHX may be a better investment than individual names. Obviously the market is more liquid for an equity.

All the public large domain holders market caps are a fraction of what the domain portfolios are worth.

Such is wall street right now

Have you noticed that Marchex's enterprise value is approaching the $160 million price that they paid for Ye's portfolio in 2004.

Any thoughts?

This index is just done on raw stock prices, right? so a small cap like DBS (mkt cap as at 18th April of only approx US$40mill) can move the whole index more than movements in a behemoth like google (mkt cap US$ 160 billion)?

Jeremy

We are trying to stick with companies that make a substantial part of there revenue from domains owned by it or by monetizing them.

Cnet.com may have some great domains but that is certainly not the core business
